Privacy Policy

This site is operated by Ryan Penley (“I”, “me”) as part of My Rock Bottom Recovery and The Next Fix podcast. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email step@myrockbottomrecovery.com.
Information you provide
The only place this site asks for personal information is the podcast guest application at /podcast-guest. If you apply, you provide your name, email address, and the story details you choose to share: your role or background, your comeback story, what you are working on now, suggested topics, the takeaway you want listeners to have, your goals, links you choose to include (such as a website or a past interview), and how you plan to share the episode.
The application also records basic context about how you arrived at the form (the referring page and campaign tags in the link you clicked) so I can understand which invitations reach people.
Information collected automatically
Analytics (Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel) run only if you choose “Allow analytics” in the consent banner. Google Analytics is configured to anonymize IP addresses. If you decline, no analytics scripts load and no tracking events are sent. Your choice is stored in your browser so you are not asked again, and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
How your information is used
- To review your guest application and contact you about it.
- To plan, record, and promote podcast episodes.
- To send occasional email about new episodes and resources — only if you ticked the optional opt-in box. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
Your information is never sold.
Where your information lives
Guest applications are stored in a database hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure. If you opt in to email, your name and email address are shared with Systeme.io, the email platform used to send those messages. Analytics data, if you consent, is processed by Google and Meta under their own policies.
Third-party links
The site links out to services such as Amazon, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
How long information is kept
Guest applications are kept while they are relevant to producing the show. You can ask for your application to be deleted at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Email step@myrockbottomrecovery.com to access, correct, or delete information you submitted.
- Unsubscribe from email using the link in any message.
- Decline analytics in the consent banner, with no downside.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Guest applicants must be 18 or older.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Real changes to how information is handled will be noted here plainly.
